DAY 01- ARI PORT/NREGOMBO
Leisure in negombo
Negombo Beach
Negombo is a modest beach town located just 10km from Bandaranaike International Airport. With a stash of decent hotels and restaurants to suit all pockets, a friendly local community, an interesting old quarter and a reasonable (though somewhat polluted) beach, Negombo is a much easier place to find your Sri Lankan feet than Colombo.
The Dutch captured the town from the Portuguese in 1640, lost it, and then captured it again in 1644. The British then took it from them in 1796 without a struggle. Negombo was one of the most important sources of cinnamon during the Dutch era, and there are still reminders of the European colonial days

DAY 02- NEGOMBO / BENTOTA
After Breakfast, proceed to Bentota.
The following are the places to visit in Day 2,
Water Sport
Looking for a place where you would be able to indulge in varied water sport activities? Water Sports Centre is one of the several water-sport centres that offers a wide array of activities and would be an ideal choice. From Jetski to sofa rides, banana boat rides to tubes, canoeing to deep sea fishing, scuba diving or snorkelling, river cruise to speed boat cruise, surfing to water ski, wakeboard to windsurfing and so much more, the list is long.
Bentota Beach
Bentota, 62km south of Colombo, is a planned tourist development. It has a long broad sandy beach, at its best during the October to April holiday season, with safe swimming – although red warning flags fly when currents are too strong. There are some fine beachside hotels, which also have swimming pools, as well as guest houses to suit all budgets close to the carefully planned developed area.
Kaluthara Temple
Kalutara Bodhiya is a Bodhi tree (sacred fig) located in Kalutara, Western Province of Sri Lanka. Situated on the Galle Colombo main road, by the side of Kalu River just south to the Kalutara city, it is believed to be one of the 32 saplings of the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka.[1] A Buddhist temple Kalutara Viharaya and a modern Stupa, Kalutara Chaitya are located in close proximity to this sacred fig. One of the most venerated religious place in Sri Lanka, hundreds of Buddhists and foreign tourists visit this religious place daily.
Dinner and overnight stay at Bentota.

Day - 3
DAY 03- BENTOTA / GALLE
After Breakfast, proceed to Galle.
The following are the places to visit in Day 3,
Turtle Farm
the Turtle Farm is a small scale research centre that is working towards protecting endangered species of turtles. You may even get a chance to hold one day old turtles! You will get to see a variety of sea turtles accompanied by plenty of informative sign boards about them. The greatest excitement for most of the people lies in watching that section where the turtle eggs are hatched. Just keep in mind that most of the species present here are endangered and are to be treated with care as well as affection.
Madu rive Boat safari
Arrive to captain’s pear and start the Boat Safari. This boat trip is a wonderful way of seeing some of the hundreds of species of plants and animals – monkeys eat fruit in the trees, a water monitor lizard glides slowly through the water, and cormorants, egrets and kingfishers wait patiently on the banks, eyeing the water for prey.
Hikkaduwa Beach
Hikkaduwa is the most famous beach spot in Sri Lanka. It offers the tourist the complete commercial beach holiday. For those looking for fun in the sun and fun when the sun goes down Hikkaduwa is the place to be. Spend your days on the beach and nights at the many beach bars and clubs. For those who are into snorkeling and diving Hikkaduwa is a good place to go to.
For the tourist the beach hotels that line up the coastal belt of Hikkaduwa and around will give the traveler everything that they are looking for in a typical tropical beach holiday.

Day - 4
DAY 04- GALLE / ARUGAM BAY
After Breakfast, proceed to Arugam bay.
The following are the places to visit in Day 4,
Arugam bay Beach
Arugam Bay is revered by surfers. This small town on the east coast of Sri Lanka embodies the quintessential laid-back surf lifestyle. The Main Point surf break is within walking distance from the town center, but is only recommended for advanced or intermediate surfers.
Otherwise, Whiskey Point or Peanut Farm are two great surf beaches for beginner and intermediate surfers; a short tuk-tuk ride will take you there. Often elephants and peacocks can be spotted beside the road, just outside of town. The main strip in Arugam Bay town is lined with restaurants and hotels where you can dine on anything from traditional Sri Lankan curry to full English breakfasts.
Surffing
Most visitors to Arugam Bay either love it, or hate it. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but one thing is for certain: it is a fantastic place to spend a few days surfing your brains out with never-ending right-handers. I’ve been a couple of times, and I would personally only recommend the long journey to Arugam Bay if you are keen to surf, are visiting during the east coast peak season or it’s not your first time to Sri Lanka. For first-time visitors to Sri Lanka, I recommend sticking to this 2 week itinerary instead, even during the “off” season along the south coast – read on for why!
Dinner and overnight stay at Arugambe.

Day - 5
DAY 05- ARUGAM BAY / KIRINDA
After Breakfast, proceed to Kirinda.
The following are the places to visit in Day 5,
Yala National Park
Yala National Park is made up of spellbinding vistas and a true abundance of Sri Lankan wildlife. It has the highest density of leopards in the world, so chances of seeing them are very high.
Although leopards are the main attraction here, they are followed closely by elephants, sloth bears and crocodiles. The park is divided into five blocks; some of which were zoned to hunters until Yala became a national park in 1938. Ensure you make time to visit the very informative visitor center at the entrance of the park for insightful displays about the area.
Kirinda Beach
Kirinda Beach is at Kirinda, a small but charming town on the south-east coast of Sri Lanka. The turbulent waters, rock boulders, and stunning views of the landscape are all part of the package when you pay a visit to this relatively quiet beach.
Enjoy a stroll along the seashore and soak in the pleasant atmosphere, or take a dip, away from the rocks and when the waters aren’t rough. If you’re feeling adventurous, hop on a boat for an exciting ride across the ocean to reach the nearer Great Little Basses Reef or, the farther Little Basses Reef. The Great and Little Basses Reefs house desolate offshore lighthouses, but the panoramas beneath them are merely magnificent. Shipwrecks and coral communities are aplenty at these reefs
Dinner and overnight stay at Kirinda.

Day - 6
DAY 06- KIRINDA / MIRISSA
After Breakfast, proceed to Mirissa.
The following are the places to visit in Day 6,
Unawatuna Beach
Unawatuna is one of the biggest tourist destinations in Sri Lanka and is the most “famous” beach in the country. It is a lovely banana-shaped beach of golden sand and turquoise water, surrounded by green palm trees!
Polhena Beach
Polhena is a beach located in Matara and contains a 1.2 km (0.75 mi) long coral reef about 80 m (260 ft) off the shore. Because of this, the water near the shore is relatively calm and is a common spot for tourists to swim.[16] Numerous people can be seen snorkeling, surfing and sunbathing along Polhena Beach. However, 90% of this fringe reef had died since the Tsunami and due to human intervention.
Gall fort
It is easy to get lost in the cobblestoned alleyways and streets within Galle Fort. Today the area is full of modern restaurants, hotels, clothing, and souvenir shops. Meanwhile, snake charmers and buskers line the seawall.
However, the fort was not always such a cosmopolitan spot. A basic fort was constructed by the Portuguese when they made their first landing to the island in 1505. When the Dutch eventually seized control of Galle, they made a number of improvements; including the enormous sea wall that still lines the fort. Galle Fort is an excellent example of what the synthesis between European and Asian architecture looks like.
Dinner and overnight stay at Mirissa.

Day - 7
DAY 07- MIRISSA / WADDUWA
After Breakfast, proceed to Wadduwa.
The following are the places to visit in Day 7,
Whale and Dolping Watching
The town has a World Heritage Site to its name and that is predominantly responsible for its popularity with tourists. Take an exciting yet comfortable boat trip out to sea and be fortunate to see Blue Whales; the largest creatures on earth, Bryde’s Whales, Sperm Whales, Killer Whales, and Fin Whales. You can also meet pods of friendly Dolphins such as the Common dolphins, Bottlenose dolphins, Spinner dolphins, Risso’s dolphins and striped dolphins as they playfully somersault and dance on the ocean waves. There’s also a good chance of seeing flying fish, turtle, manta rays and even sharks.
Wadduwa Beach
Dream of staying in a tranquil local beach but not far from the energetic city life? Wadduwa is one perfect location.
Wadduwa is located on the southwestern coast of Sri Lanka, 70 km from the international airport and about 40 km from Colombo.
This chilled-out beach paradise is hidden between coconut plantations and is one of the most beautiful beaches in the region with golden sands contrasting against the clear blue skies.
This is a working fisherman village and each morning the fishermen gather to sell their catch of the day – experience it yourself by strolling down to the market in the morning to see what the warm Indian Ocean waters have given for the day.
Dinner and overnight stay at Wadduwa.

Day - 8
DAY 08- WADDUWA / COLOMBO / AIRPORT
After Breakfast, proceed to Airport.
The following are the places to visit in Day 8,
Galle Face
This 16th-century Dutch fortress complex has been turned into a large tourist attraction. Originally built by the Portuguese in the 16th century, most of the structures date to the Dutch colonial period in the 17th century. More than a fort, it's a small fortified village, with homes, churches, a mosque, and lots of shops all within the fortress walls.
You can visit the fort and the lighthouse, and there are several museums on the site along with big shopping areas. The Fort, on the southwest coast Sri Lanka, about two hours south of Colombo, is a popular tourist destination with a lot of boutique hotels, some located within the fort's walls.
